Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa has brought what has been long considered luxury services to the mass market and has helped fuel the explosive growth of an entire industry. Massage services are no longer just a luxury: sixty percent of massage consumers had a massage for relaxation or stress reduction in 2018*. And Hand & Stone is more than just massages. We are a full-service spa that also offers skincare facials, hair removal services, self-care products, and gift cards.

Between July 2018 and July 2019, surveys indicated that roughly 48 million adult Americans (21 percent) had a massage at least once**. These numbers don’t lie, and they show a growing interest in massages and other spa services. Other studies have revealed more promising information. Men make up nearly 30% of spa customers, which offers an exciting opportunity to market something that has largely been regarded as a women’s luxury to an entirely new audience. Reasons Customers Choose Spa Services

Many people associate massages with luxury and relaxation. Hand & Stone is changing that perception. By bringing our spa services to the middle market at prices that are 30% lower than traditional day spas and promoting them as essential self-care, we are opening ourselves up to an audience that may have additional needs and might not otherwise consider our services.

While studies show that over 30% of spa customers do indeed choose these services for relaxation**, that leaves a large percentage of people who come for other reasons. Nearly the same percentage of customers choose spa services for stress relief, with a fairly large percentage seeking pain relief.
