In 2009, Todd Leff, a 20 year franchise industry veteran who had been President and CEO of a 1,100 unit automotive chain, became an investor in and part of the Hand and Stone Management team. Todd brings to Hand and Stone franchise management experience having successfully grown other national franchise brands. He is leading the company's marketing, franchise development, real estate and finance functions and serves as the company's President and CEO.
Bob McQuillan joined Hand and Stone in 2010 as Vice President of Franchise Development. Bob has over a decade's worth of experience in the franchising industry and has held senior management positions with companies such as Hollywood Tans and Tanworld. Being an architect of strategic growth is Bob's specialty but his continued focus on support has been instrumental in spearheading our real estate and finance efforts as well. In addition, Bob has been a multi-unit franchisee, which lends a unique perspective to potential investors. Couple this with the fact that Bob's wife Denise is a multi-unit Hand & Stone franchisee and you have a winning combination that exhibits a great belief in and understanding of our brand.
Brock Clayton joined Hand and Stone in November 2008 as our Chief Information Officer. He oversees all software implementation, management of critical Point of Sale software development and heads the support hotline. He not only is an expert in IT, but, has the business experience to help our franchisees use technology to grow their business. Prior to joining Hand and Stone, Brock was employed by Massage Envy as Vice President and Director of Information Technology from December 2006 to November 2008 where he oversaw a software implementation for over 300 locations. He was the Business System Manager for Medaire from August 2000 to December 2006.
Kris Smith, a franchise veteran with more than 25 years of experience in the industry, joined Hand & Stone in 2012 as Vice President of Real Estate Development. He is responsible for providing guidance and lease negotiation assistance to our franchisees throughout the real estate process. Kris began his career with Domino's Pizza where he spent 13 years in several corporate positions and was also a successful multi-unit franchisee. He has also held the position of Development Manager for Dunkin Brands, where he was responsible for the Real Estate and Construction team that developed over 100 new locations within a twelve month period. In 2008 he was brought on as Vice President of Brand Services for Saladworks, a 100+ unit chain of fast casual salad restaurants. As Vice President of Real Estate Development, Kris was responsible for several divisions within the company, to include Operations, Design & Construction, Training, Procurement & Distribution, as well as the Research & Development department.
Cindy Meiskin joined Hand and Stone in February of 2012 as Director of Corporate Training. Cindy has been in the Health and Wellness Industry for close to 20 years, heading her own fitness firm, after achieving CPT and CES certifications from the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM). From 1985 to 1991 she was a Business Systems Analyst for a Pennsylvania based bank where Cindy conducted all the corporate training and developed the supporting documentation, working as a liaison between the accounting department and IT. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Temple University with a degree in Accounting. Cindy is responsible for teaching portions of our new owner training, developing new training processes, creating training support materials, and performing Grand Opening visits for direct corporate support Spas.
Debbi Worton joined Hand and Stone in August 2008 as our Director of Operations. She is responsible for providing new and existing franchisees with ramp up and ongoing support such as but not limited to vendor support, franchisee compliance and conference preparation. Additionally key responsibility focuses on the growth of the Hand and Stone facial and waxing program. Debbi joins us with many years of corporate training and sales experience managing business accounts for companies such as Proctor & Gamble and Maybelline. In her last position with the Lawn Doctor franchise which consists of over 425 units, she assisted new franchisees in the ramp up process and also facilitated many of the training programs presented.
Jack Bachinsky recently joined Hand & Stone as the Vice President of Advertising and Marketing, running the internal advertising agency, HSM Advertising. Jack brings over twenty five years of marketing and advertising experience, growing and leading some of the most iconic brands in franchising. He brings diversified expertise to the role in marketing strategy, creative development, media planning and managing SEO and SEM strategies. Jack’s most recent franchise experience before Hand & Stone includes leading all marketing efforts for a 900-unit automotive franchise and 800-unit international weight loss chain where he managed all aspects of multi-million dollar annual advertising budgets including spot media, digital, and direct mail. He led new brand extension and positioning efforts and developed and executed annual and multi-year brand growth plans. Jack is responsible for leading Hand & Stone’s branding and promotional efforts and managing media, CRM, social and digital advertising programs for the franchisees.
Scott Brennan was appointed Chief Financial Officer for Hand and Stone in 2013. Prior to joining Hand and Stone, Scott served as Vice President of Finance at American Driveline Systems, the parent company to AAMCO Transmissions and Cottman Transmission, where he lead multiple facets of the finance team for the 1,000 store company. He successfully helped implement a new accounting system and served as the finance project leader completing due diligence and negotiation of several potential asset acquisitions by the company. Prior to working at American Driveline, Scott was Director of Corporate Finance for Diamond Triumph Auto Glass, a national auto glass replacement firm.
